Universal Voting Bill filed in Washington State
Major development! A Bill to Establish Universal Civic Duty Voting has been filed in the Washington State Legislature. "BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON: The legislature finds that the words 'We the People' are central to our system of government. Universal civic duty voting would give us a system where every vote counts, and the people who represent us would have to speak to all of us." Thank you to Senator Sam Hunt and Rep. Sharlett Mena for leading the way. Executive Director Miles Rapoport and Senior Organizing Consultant Cathy Duvall will be in Olympia for the Jan. 31 hearing, where Miles Rapoport will testify.
