It is a game-changing policy that will dramatically increase voting participation and make the electorate far more reflective of America’s diverse population. Efforts are being made to advance the idea in public debate and public policy at the federal, state and municipal level, with the understanding that different jurisdictions will adopt and implement universal voting in different ways.
